Stress Buster – Konkan Getaway

Fitness has quite a unique perspective in everyone’s mind. Some of the common ones that I come across while talking to people are listed below:

  • Don’t eat any junk food
  • Run at least 10 km a day
  • Go to Gym on a daily basis
  • Perform Yoga and Meditation regularly
  • Go for a GM Diet once a month

and so on….

In our previous posts, we have spoken about physical fitness, social fitness & spiritual fitness and with this post we will speak about another key aspect of fitness i.e. mental fitness.

I am a strong believer of the fact that for a person to be truly fit – focusing on just one or two facets of fitness won’t serve the purpose. Everyone should strive and bring a balance between all the four facets of fitness to derive happiness in this world full of mysteries and uncertainties.

Indian December – No Stress at all

Every year after all the fast paced routine activities all through January to November, December month comes across as a big boon to the mankind. This applies especially to people in the software industry where a lot of key happenings are still dependant on the developed nations in the Americas and Europe where the people go into a complete holiday mood starting the ‘Thanksgiving Day’.

Someone has rightly said 🙂

December is the “friday” of the months

Let’s hit the beach

With all this context, let me jump on to my getaway in this year’s December. Going to goa would always be the first choice when it comes to a winter vacation in India; however with the problems of it being overcrowded, too commercial, too costly & too chaotic – I fall back to my 2nd most favorite winter vacation place i.e. Konkan Beaches.

With an experience of almost 10+ years of spending a winter vacation in Konkan ( 1 vacation each year ), I have been fortunate enough to have visited 25+ different beach destinations from North Konkan ( Alibaug ) all across to Goa. Each destination has its own peculiarity in the variety of sand textures, sea waves, hills surrounding the sea, dolphin sights, and many other factors. I will write a separate post in future to share my comparison of various beaches for all those who might be interested in exploring these mesmerizing places.

Dapoli – this time ( again ) !!!

Dapoli is a hill station town in Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra and is called “mini-Mahabaleshwar” owing to the beautiful Sahyadri mountains surrounding it from 3 sides. It has a myriad number of beaches along the coastline of Arabian Sea. We decided to visit few beaches in the Dapoli region this year during the Christmas vacation along with friends and get completely de-stressed. Some key aspects with images are shared below.

Konkan, simply wow and amazing sites. I just recalled the trips that we made with family and friends long ago, but specifications of Konkan still remain the same. It really helps keeping away from hush hush of city life. In addition people those who love trekking can explore Nashik and around for a overnight trek and enjoy the similar stress killing experience 🙂
